"Lack of teachers, textbooks, lab equipment are not core problems; focusing on them is a waste of time and resources that could be better spent elsewhere. Rather than teacher-induced learning, we propose process induced-learning as a new paradigm." 2010 Magsaysay Awardees and PAASE members, Christopher Bernido & M. Victoria Carpio-Bernido, developed the Dynamic Learning Program (DLP), implemented first at the Central Visayan Institute Foundation in Bohol and now in many schools in the Philippines. An off-shoot of DLP is the Learning Physics as One Nation (LPON). CLICK HERE for an overview of DLP and LPON. The Bernidos are opposed to the 12-year education cycle being proposed in the Philippines (READ GMA NEWS HERE). More links: LPON , DLP
Dr. Angel de Dios, Chemistry faculty member at Georgetown University in the US, and PAASE member, has been working for many years with elementary and high schools in Paete, Laguna, Philippines. Samples of his Science Lessons for 'Batang' (young) Paete Forum are given below.

Excerpt from an issue of the Ayala Foundation Newsletter:
Dr. Angel de Dios spent the summer conducting a series of lectures about the Internet to public school teachers and students of Paete, Laguna. Tracing back his roots to Paete, Dr. de Dios spent 3-weeks sharing with his fellow Paetenians the educational benefits of the Internet while putting emphasis on the basic skills of reading, writing, logic and arithmetic.
